FVM 36" metal wheels on MT pass cars??

I noticed on one retailers website that the FVM 36" wheels with .540 width part no FVM-3601, which fits most MT trucks, does not fit MT passenger trucks. Does anyone know if this includes both the older 6-wheel truck and the new PS 6-wheel truck? Also, which sizes have any of you had any luck with? At the price of metal wheels I don’t want to buy very many unless I know they can be used. Thanks!

Hello! New guy from Ohio

First I would like to thank everyone for this site. I have been poking around for a few days. Anyways my name is Seann. As stated above I live in Ohio. I’m 34 years young, I collect O scale trains and enjoy modeling in HO scale trains with my son. We are in the very early stages of building a layout in our basement. That’s the reason I have been looking around (and finally joined) to get some ideas of others who have more experience than us. I am also a member of Sebring Model Railroad Club. My other hobbies include a ’89 Iroc built for road racing w/ 500hp 383ci, 4-wheeling, and riding with my wife on our Harley.

Kato CP AC4400CW detailing: mixed dates?

Looking at pictures of 1:1 scale CP AC4400CWs (for a project I’m working on) and Kato’s version I noticed something (among other things) and I’m wondering if I’m correct….

The Kato cab with attached panels seems to represent a 90′s built AC4400 but the hood on the Kato seems to represent a 2000′s built AC4400?

Looking behind the dynamic brake openings on the kato hood there is a panel and then a radiator which would seem to represent a 2000′s built loco, pre 2000′s built seem to have the radiator right beside the dynamic brake openings.

Have a look:

Need Advise!

I want to get into the hobby and have been reading through a lot of threads and still do not understand some things because I am new. I am thinking of going the HO route and I have very limited space. With that said, who actually makes the best trains? I do not want to buy cheap stuff. Also I want track I guess like Atlas True Track which I believe is made ready to go.
Thank You!
